Basic Steadiness Class (6 week course) [indoor/outdoor class]
Dates: Dec. 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th Jan. 5th, 12th
Location: At our Country Clips Location. This course is taught both inside our warming shelter as well as working dogs outside. (Your gun dog, should be able to be outside for an hour in the cold working, as these are the same as hunting conditions which last into January.) Please dress accordingly!
Steadiness is essential for both gun dogs in the field and those testing in hunt tests. This course will take you through the essential steps and drills toward steadying your gun dog.
This course covers basic steadiness exercises and drills. Distractions, diversions and live birds are all incorporated into this training course.
What is required of you: You will learn the basic skills necessary during class, but you will need to practice with your puppy/dog outside of class, in between sessions, and after the class is over continue practicing & training. Please be prepared to dedicate time daily to practicing with your puppy/dog.
Prerequisites: Your puppy/dog must be at least 6 months old at the time of the first class. Please see our vaccination requirements as well.
What to bring: Proper equipment will be discussed at first course day.
Class Size: Limited to 10 handler/dog teams
