2 Day Workshop with World Renowned Gundog Trainer: Anthea Lawrence with an option on Day 3 to obtain an international title from the "Kennel Club" (UK), Working Gundog Certificate!
REGISTRATIONS & PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 1ST!
Who is giving the workshop: World Renowned gundog trainer and author: Anthea Lawrence from Wales, UK! Anthea has graciously agreed to fly to the United States for her very first time to give this workshop! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity! She teaches through proven no harsh/no cruelty methods!
When will it be held: September 13th, 14th & 15th. The 13th and 14th will be workshop days and the 15th will be strictly for the assessment.
What time will it be held: We get started between 8:30-9am for the day and end at roughly 3-4pm, depending on the needs of the group, so plan to be flexible!
Where will it be held: Apple Blossom Kennels - 3273 421st Ave NE Braham, MN 55006
Who can participate: All "Kennel Club" (UK registry) recognized breeds may participate in the assessment. That includes!: Spaniels, Retrievers, Setters, Pointers, etc.! You will receive a registration form prior to the assessment for you to fill out and have your dog registered with the "Kennel Club" in the UK so that upon successful completion your certificate will be officially recognized by the UK's Kennel Club.
What to expect!: The Kennel Club requires 2 assessors for the Working Gundog Certificate assessment. Anthea Lawrence will provide the workshop portion as well as the assessment and we are also lucky to have Craig Korff from Wildrose Kennels who will be co-assessing!
Anthea runs her workshops by splitting the dogs and handlers into smaller groups and then running the groups separately to ensure the dogs are not overworked during the day. This also gives individuals the opportunity to watch and learn from others that are running.
Anthea will ensure you understand what to expect for the assessment! Come and learn with your dog and then participate on the 3rd day in the gundog working certificate assessment and earn your first international title!
What to bring: Be sure to bring a kennel and water for your dog. Be sure to also bring a whistle (I recommend the Acme whistles), and your own bumpers for both water and land work (2-4 of them).
*Note: We must meet a minimum of participants to cover the costs associated with flying our international trainer/assessor from Wales, UK into the US and host her here. If we do not meet the minimum participants required we will need to cancel the event and refund your registration.
